The Great Quality Experiment was an attempt by players Foxy Foxster and Mircea Mircescu to ascertain the qualitative outcomes of using four distinct pairings of blueprints and corresponding bundles.

Background

The need for data collection pertaining to crafting inputs quality and subsequent overcraft yield became apparent in the #eulora channel in late March of 2016.

The Experiment

Follow along in the logs here too see how the experiment was carried out in the channel.

The participants chose to make bod, or Black of Desspayr, for the experiment. Each player was to make four such items, as follows: 1) with a low quality bundle and low quality blueprint; 2) with a high quality bundle and a low quality blueprint; 3) with a high quality bundle and high quality blueprint; and 4) with a low quality bundle and high quality blueprint.

Results

1) LQ bundle + LQ BP: Mircea Mircescu looted bod quality 79 and 179 oal (Old Apron Lint) at quality 79; Foxy Foxster looted bod quality 72 and 198 oal at quality 72.

2) HQ bundle + LQ BP: Mircea Mircescu looted bod quality 132 and 780 oal of the same quality; Foxy Foxster looted bod quality 120 and 721 oal of the same quality.

3) HQ bundle + HQ BP: Mircea Mircescu looted bod quality 264 and did not get any oal; Foxy Foxster looted bod quality 241 and did not get any oal.

4) LQ bundle + HQ BP: Mircea Mircescu looted bod quality 157 and did not get any oal; Foxy Foxster looted bod quality 143 and did not get any oal.

Notes

As with may things in Eulora, conclusions weren't exactly forthcoming, and mere notes can be taken from the experiment, among which:

1. For a 50% increase in blueprint quality, output quality doubled.

2. That Note 1 above applied to both participants' outcomes.

3. An explanation of the outcomes observed is neither apparent nor apparently forthcoming.
